DALLAS (KDAF)– Two words: Mini trampoline. A few more words: It’s possible to have a fun time working out, bouncing around on a trampoline while toning and building muscle. That’s what C7 Training in Dallas specializes in.

Owner and founder Shannon Cave explained her approach takes into account the relationship between the body, heart and mind. Cave’s taken her personal training and dancing background, passion for whole body wellness, and channeled it into an hour of calorie burning, cardiovascular healthy fun.

“The rebounder is the most effective way to work out,” Cave said. “You get your cardiovascular workout in a low impact way.” The studio is women only. She said 10 minutes on the rebounder equals a 30-minute run without all the wear and tear on your joints.

“It stimulates your lymphatic system, it increases blood flow, it helps produce muscle coordination, it’s really unique, amazing and so much fun.” Cave said the calorie burning workout slows down aging, boosts your immune system, and improves mental health.

A typical C7 class includes rebounder cardio routines, sculpting and toning with booty bands and sliders, strength training with weighted rings and dumbbells, weighted dancing arms, resistance training, booty, pelvic floor, and core sequences, and stretching. Cave explained the hour long class targets arms, abs, glutes and cardiovascular endurance.

Don’t worry, it is beginner friendly. And classes are capped at 15 people to allow small group training while creating an uplifting experience. In more ways than one.

“We take your heart rate on a rollercoaster,” Cave joked. “We focus on stimulating your lymphatic system, and make sure no two classes are the same.”

The C7 ladybug was chosen in remembrance of Shannon’s childhood best friend, Betsy Anne Clement. Betsy passed away after a car crash at 18 years old. She was an education major at TCU prior to her passing. Cave said she feels her friend’s presence through the appearance of ladybugs. In honor of Betsy, C7 donates a portion of proceeds each quarter to the TCU Betsy Anne Clement Memorial Scholarship and the West Dallas Community School.

Classes are $40 for a single drop in, and $32 for students. There are also packages available with generous expiration dates.

“I’ve had a lot of different physical therapists send their clients to us because it is a safe way to do your cardio and we do it in short bursts so that we don’t produce too much cortisol or tax your adrenal glands.

You sweat a lot more than your bargained for on a rebounder, but I can vouch that you also walk away with an extra spring in your step.
